Solomon Islands
The Solomon Islands is an archipelago in the south-west
Pacific consisting of a double chain of rocky islands
and some small coral islands. It joined the Commonwealth
in 1978. 
Solomon Islands attended their first Games in Brisbane
in 1982 and have only been absent from the 1986 Games.
The National Olympic Committee of Solomon Islands
(NOCSI) was recognised in 1983 and is responsible
for the organisation of it's country's participation
in the Commonwealth Games. NOCSI also has the responsibility
for organising the participation of Solomon Islands
in South Pacific Games and the Olympic Games.
